If you have no idea what this assignment means, please contact me. This topic is very hard and is often neglected in my students. If you are a teacher, please help us help our students. We do not get the chance to revise at school, so this is the only opportunity. It is not every kid that can succeed in this class. I wish we could have a class of 30, and in such a class we could get the top students that struggle. But most of our kids are not on the main track or in the RAL programs. I wish I could fix every kid that comes in, and I don't know how much I can do to help. The ones that do make it stick out that much more that every kid that does make it sticks out that much more.

To: M.Brad Stevens Coach, your men have been working their asses off in the middle of nowhere, God knows how many miles from any grocery store, don't you ever try to make a food run in the middle of these mountains. And I don't care if they're not working out now, what's more important is their condition is in, no sugar, no starch, no wrong foods. And one thing's for sure. Your players don't want to stay after for your little cheerleading classes. It's pretty damn scary up here. You know when the forest comes to life around the sun, and all the animals start to come back, it makes it real tough to get a good night's sleep, man. Even in this room. In 10 years, almost all of our basketball players will have graduated, but if we do not start thinking about the future sooner, we will be really fucking sad, because we'll never be able to play this game again. And I know that you've been here for many years and will get to the pros. When you get there, just watch a couple of guys dribble a ball up the court. You'll never be able to run with that pace ever again. Just one of the things you've had to learn, coach, when you were down here in the middle of nowhere. I hate to bother you but I need a boost of some kind. The door is still open, and nobody's on the court. I can't seem to shake this horrible off, I must be feeling homesick, man. I'm going to find a piece of paper and write some lines on it. Here's what I need to say. Don't stop believing in yourself. No matter what, hold on to what you believe. Because that's the only way you get out of here alive. But remember, you will never lose, except in the few seconds after your heart stops beating, and I don't think I have to tell you that in this part of the world, you're going to need that heart pretty damn badly. I wish I could make your teachers realize that the kids know way more than they do about education. I wish you could see your class as it was. Have you ever watched one of your friends trying to write in a text book? It's not just you. You know when you're driving with your parents and they look at you and they say “you have to read the speed limit signs”? I can't tell my parents any of this shit. Why? Because if they ever got to a speed limit sign, they'd be stopped by the cops and they would just sit there and would not be able to drive and not look at any other car on the road. I wish I could change the school buildings, but since I cannot, I will just concentrate on what I can change. I can change this school. I can change the ways you teach. I will talk to the teachers about what they are teaching. I can also change the school around the ground, because in 10 years you will not want to be here. Oh, man, when the winter is finally over and the snow has finally covered all the roads and you know that you're just about to leave this school. You're gonna be so happy. You know that you want to keep the students all winter, and you know that you want to let them play basketball. But we can't do that anymore. They'll get their hearts ripped out by their mothers.
